Trio Zeliha
in residency since 2022
- Jorge González Buajasán piano
- Manon Galy violin
- Maxime Quennesson cello
The Zeliha trio was created in 2018, the fruit of the artistic collaboration of violinist Manon Galy, cellist Maxime Quennesson and pianist Jorge Gonzalez-Buajasan. In 2019, the trio won the FNAPEC competition, in 2020 they won the first “Luigi Boccherini” prize at the Virtuoso & Belcanto International Competition (Italy) and 2021 the first prize in the Lyon Chamber Music Competition and the Belle Saison prize.
The Zeliha trio recorded their first CD at Mirare with a program dedicated to works by Mendelssohn, Arensky and Shostakovich. Released in November 2020, it has already received praise from Alfred Brendel and Menahem Pressler; the latter speaks of an “exceptional recording, not only for its exquisite musicality but also for the technical qualities of each of them. It is heartwarming to hear such a young band reach such musical depth; with them it is obvious that music takes precedence over everything ”. In January 2021, the disc was elected “Editor's choice January 2021” by Gramophone magazine and hailed by critics from The Strad, Diapason (5 tuning forks), Classica (Coup de Coeur / 5 stars).
Driven by ardor and the same passionate enthusiasm, anxious to serve the most diverse repertoire, the Zeliha Trio performs regularly on the stages of the festivals of La Roque d'Anthéron, Radio France Montpellier, Rencontres Musicales d'Evian among others and at the Rainier III auditorium in Monaco in November 2020 as part of the chamber music series of the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra.
After working with Claire Désert and the Wanderer Trio, they are currently in the class of Luc-Marie Aguera at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Paris. They also had the chance to receive advice from great musical personalities such as Emmanuel Strosser, Lise Berthaud, Olivier Charlier, Hortense Cartier-Bresson and the Ebène and Modigliani quartets.
