Mirages Quartet was founded in 2020 by four students of the CNSM (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris). They followed the teaching of Pierre Fouchenneret, François Salque, Pierre Colombet (Ebene Quartet), Christophe Giovaninetti (Ysaÿe Quartet), Jean-Marc Phillips Varjabedian (Trio Wanderer), Michael Hentz, Victor Julien-Laferrière, Hortense Cartier-Bresson, Olivier Charlier, and Marc Coppey.
The quartet won the First Prize at the Via Nova Competition in 2021 organized by La Roche-Guyon masterclass, but also the “Prix des cordes en ballade'' attributed by the Debussy Quartet at the 34th FNAPEC European Competition.
The young musicians gave their first concerts in France as a quartet in 2021, playing Schubert, Haydn, Brahms, Mendelssohn and Dieter Schnebel. They had the opportunity to work with harpist Sylvain Blassel, double bass player Yann Dubost, but also to meet mentors such as Marc Danel and Gary Hoffman during the Schiermonnikoog Academy in Netherlands.
In 2022, the quartet was invited by the Diotima Quartet to participate in the Aix-en-Provence chamber music Academy and was selected to play at Verbier Festival. The musicians were also invited to play as the first part of the Ebene Quartet concert at the Festival Quatuors du Lubéron (France) and played for the first time at the Archives Nationales for the Jeunes Talents Festival in Paris.
